Pilot in the U.S. Air Force for over five years; flew over 400 KC-135 missions in Europe, the Atlantic, the Pacific, Southeast Asia, Canada, Greenland and throughout The United States; attained the rank of Captain.

Family

Al and Sally, his wife of 45 years, have four grown children:  Julie, a Wittenberg University graduate; Alan, a graduate of Purdue University; Keith, a graduate of Quincy University; and Stacy, a Kenyon College graduate. Al and Sally also have eleven grandchildren.
